Tremendous late 1800s mourning mantle cape. Fully beaded along the collar, placket, bottom hem, and down the center back. The beading is strong and intact. The shape is pretty interesting- long tails in the front, receding to a shorter length in the back. The entire bottom edge is lined with fringe. The condition of this piece is wonderful EXCEPT for some splitting which occurred at the shoulder from a hanger. I feel that this area could be backed and secured- but I’m not 100% sure.
