Late 60s-Early 70s Short Sleeve Seersucker Dress Red White, and Blue Check$48.00
(belt shown not included in listing, just a styling option)
Home sewers and local dressmakers were plentiful during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Whether a home sewer, or dressmaker, this cute handmade red, white, and blue check cotton seersucker dress is extremely well done. Styled with princess lines, the 8-panel construction features short sleeves; a mandarin collar, which is folded over except in photo #4; and a front and back inverted center pleat. The dress nips in a bit at the waist and flares out nicely. I added a belt (not included in the listing) as a styling option for more of a fitted/flare look. Fully lined in a lovely shade of red, including the sleeves, the fabric feels like silk, but could be polyester given the time-period. The dress is hemmed with lace binding and closes in the back with an 18"nylon zipper and hook and eye at the neck.
