Jens Quistgaard
Kronjyden Relief Pattern Teapot Designed by Jens Quistgaard Lovely Danish Modern Scandinavian Design$195.00
A beautiful and hard to find Kronjyden Teapot Designed by Jens Quistgaard in the Relief pattern. Introduced in 1959 as part of the IHQ tableware line for Bing Grondahl made in Denmark. Very rare to find one in the U. S. I got this at an estate sale with a large collection of Scandinavian Mid Century pieces. It is a beautiful gray/green color with a wonderful shape and rattan covered handle. This is the larger of the 2 designs I've seen.
It's in good condition overall, there is one hairline crack near the front edge but the handle. Also there is a grayish cast to the lid, this may be part of the finish, as it has aged, or possibly from being put in the dish washer. Please see photos. Otherwise just minor signs of wear and age. Well marked at the base, really a lovely piece. I also have a set of the cups and saucers in the pattern listed.
Height with handle - 8. 26"
Length spout to end - 7. 4"
Width - 5. 11"
