I Magnin Label presents Gino Charles - A diffusion line created in 1966 by Teal Traina and Malcolm Starr, they combined their middle names to create, Gino Charles. The line was started to make American styles available in markets around the world and the cut of the garment was altered to fit the typical body type in each market, a revolutionary idea for the time and the start of global fashion consciousness. The line was designed by Alan Phillips. Based upon the design of the label, the dress was created in the 1960s. This dress is a sleeveless mock turtleneck with a dropped waist. The bodice is a beautiful substantial cream-colored satin; the skirt matches the Jacket and is a magnificent brocade with pink; orange; red; gold; and cream colors in an abstract design. The skirt/dress contains hidden pockets in the front princess seams and is fully lined. The Jacket has a notched collar; 4 gold buttons as closures; the cuff has the same cream satin in the top, peeking out at the bottom; and if fully lined.
Things to note: the cream bodice has some staining where a belt was worn. This could be fixed by creating a belt to match or using material to create a scarf to tie around the waist. The underarms have a slight discoloration but are not noticeable when worn.
