A black beaded triple strand choker for any season, any reason, this Heidi Daus choker is vintage, one of her rare first designs. Fabulous black faceted 1/8 inch round beads are well strung in 3 rows. In the center there is a lover's knot, with inset shiny gray Swarovski crystals. A box clasp in the back is as beautifully accented as the front, with a style that mimics the front knot and includes even smaller gray crystals.
This choker is from the period before the Heidi Daus logo name was on each piece. Instead this shows "HD China".
Another clue as to its age is the box type closure. Essentially, the box clasps work thanks to the wedge-shaped metallic piece that is compressed whenever you slide it down into the other wedge, or the clasp’s box, securing it in place. And to open the clasp, you’d have to push down on the lever compressing on the metal wedge so that it slides out easily.
Authentic Heidi Daus, this is one of her iconic chokers, a must-have for anyone who adores wearing and collecting her jewelry designs.
In total length this choker is 17 and 1/2 inches long. The center lovers knot is 2 and 1/4 inches wide by 1 and 1/2 inches in height.
This is in Excellent Vintage Condition, with no issues at all to report. As you can see in the photos, the metal is completely untarnished and all of the beads are well strung. Each of the small shiny gray inset rhinestones are intact and remain shiny.
At the back of the choker the box style clasp is sturdy and secure.
When I purchased this choker, the original owner had a personal collection of Heidi Daus necklaces, necklace sets, hinged bracelets and rings that she had purchased and wore over the years. Her family sold them all to me in an Estate Sale. I will be researching and listing these items over time.
