Beautiful hand painted lacquer pin. We know where it's from, just don't know what it was called when this folk art tole painting brooch was made. Either USSR, or Soviet, or Russia. So, let's say it's a beautiful Russian lacquer brooch!

The style hasn't changed: shiny black lacquer paint on wood, with delicate hand painted flowers or folk tale figures. Always magical. And ironically, the clasp stuck on the back is often a cheap safety pin.
