This grey cotton chambray Swirl wrap dress from the late 1950s to early 1960s has a charming, red tulip appliqué on its single, large patch pocket. Red cord trim accents the round neckline and the edges of the pocket. In classic Swirl style, the dress fastens at the back of the neck with one textured button (in matching grey shell), as well as wrapping and tying at the waist. The sleeves have wide openings, for ease of movement in this vintage housedress. The bodice is moderately loose fitting, with vertical seaming in front. The skirt has tiny gathers at the front waist seam, and is gently flared from waist to hem. The chambray cotton fabric is medium weight, with a crisp hand and some heft to it, but still lightweight enough to be cool and comfy in warmer weather. The dress is unlined. In excellent to mint condition, it appears unworn, but we have laundered it for freshness. Based on the underarm-to-waist measurement, it does seem to fit like a petite, being fairly short-waisted. Like all of mid-century vintage Swirl wrap dresses, it is an easy-on-and-off style, very versatile, and comfortable to wear.
