This is a beautifully constructed 1940s matte black silk taffeta (with a satin finish) gown with the classic fit for the 1940s.. Bottom of the gown is gored and has silk taffeta with velvet panels. Nothing but sheer elegance. The bodice is fully ruched and pleated. The bust pleating is designed to expand as the bust fills it out. Styled with a square neckline, with short gathered sleeves. There are a few tiny tiny pin size holes in the skirt but really you don't even see them. Closes on the side with metal closure. It is in excellent condition.
