This coat was made in the early 1980s by Givenchy Boutiques, Givenchy's ready-to-wear label. Hubert de Givenchy started his couture house in 1952, and beginning in 1968 he began to create ready-to-wear clothing under the label "Nouvelle Boutique." The Givenchy Boutique label continued to produce demi-couture quality clothing in extremely small scale production in France. It was mostly sold in their own Paris boutique, as a luxury offering to Givenchy's couture clients. This highlights how special and quality this coat is. It's made of an unbelievably soft black wool/cashmere blend, with a chocolate brown mink fur collar. I can't overstate how luxurious this coat feels when you put it on— it's fully lined on the interior, so it's very warm. The shape is slightly oversized, with dropped shoulders and bracelet length sleeves, which keep the look from feeling overwhelming. I love the velvet buttons throughout, and the hidden pockets at the front. Made in France of 80% wool/20% cashmere.
Measurements: The somewhat oversized shape allows this to fit a range of sizes. Shown here on a US size 2/4.
Shoulders: 20"
Chest: 46" (armpits doubled)
Sleeves: 19"
Length: 36"
Great vintage condition. One velvet button is not original to the piece but has been replaced with an identical button. With any questions about the specific condition or size, please email shop@verybreezy.com
