- handwritten fountain pen note pinned to waistcoat under lapel - "My fathers coat and velvet vest which were tailored for his wedding"

- inner tail pockets along with innter chest pockets
- beautifully cut back and shoulders on frock coat
- princess seams at back tailcoat
- 3 outer pockets on waistcoat, one inner pocket
- chest of waistcoat is 38" so actual chest should not exceed 36" or 37"
- inner pockets on frock coat
- button pockets with V pointed pocket flap detail

Material: facecloth main body, silk velvet I believe, cotton canvas waistcoat lining and pockets, polished cotton lining

Decade: 1860s possibly into early 1870s

Brand/Tags: custom made with no details of tailor.

Condition: Good - (though in good condition due to age and seam threads being fragile so I would not recommend wearing but be kept for a collection) there are about 5 places on the facecloth where it is threadbare from nibbles but no full holes that I spotted, the lining has multiple threadbare spots that are smaller, waistcoat velvet has one thread out, light missing velvet on edges of buttons, a few spots where velvet is flattened but not bald, vest lining discoloration from sweat and age, back of vest has several threadbare spots, vest back center seam was split and has been restored with vintage mercerized cotton thread, dusty smell and presents beautifully in person.
