This is a gold color, woven ribbon fabric necklace with metal ball chain weaving throughout the braided style. Since it is woven, the fabric gives a little to adjust from 15 to 16 inch choker length and 1 inch wide. Some of the ball chain components have signs of natural green patina. This style necklace was worn by twenties girls sporting the flapper style. It closes with its original fold over box clasp.

This fabric necklace is circa 1925 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
