This hardcover book was one of the first published. There is another 1902 but the front is colored. This came before that. There was a series of Dorothy Dainty books an this is the first of the series.

Illustrated by the author, Amy Brooks. The book has been loved. There are some water stains, more in the inside and the inside front has some scratched out writing. It looks like an address in Pa. but then there is a child's handwriting, in pencil below. She is asking if it gets lost to please return it to her (name) and her partial address. It's kind of charming to see that.

The binding is good and other than the writing in the inside front, the pages do not have pen marks, just some rumpled water effect. The pages are not bent. Please see photos.
