A statement necklace, this vintage Etruscan Revival multi chain pendant necklace is made of gold-tone metal. 8 strands make up the chain part of the necklace, each 11 inches long. Suspended from those is a 3-dimensional 2 and 1/2 inch by 2 and 1/2 inch pendant. Update: A kind member of our Etsy family notified me that this is a Goldette designer piece. She said these necklaces were made by Goldette in three variations: gold tone, silver tone and dual tone metal.
That Etruscan style pendant is movable in the center due to the middle row of links. Below that intricate large pendant there are 17 attached metal chain tassels, each 4 inches in length.
As you can see, the stunning center drop is therefore a total of 17 and 1/2 inches from the back clasp to the end of the tassels.
There is so much to love about this fabulous pendant and tassel necklace, which makes this a very collectible and desirable piece for your personal wear or to add to your vintage treasure chest.
Several hallmarks of Etruscan style are demonstrated in this piece: the filigree work, hammering relief decoration, intricate movement and multiple patterns. Detail photos are included so you can check those out for yourself.
As you can see in the final photo, there is no designer logo or signature on this piece. When it was originally sold, there must have been a paper tag.
In Very Good Vintage Condition, it is clearly a well made designer item, made with good quality plated metal, which remains very flexible.
The back clasp is the traditional fold over type and it has a half moon shape to accommodate the 8 strands for each side of the necklace. In the photos of the back you can see this is the only part of the necklace that shows any signs of prior wear. There are some chips in the metal of the clasp.
It is extremely flexible, as I tried to show in the photos where it is flat. Each section of the gold tone metal is perfectly fitted to the next, which means that every part of the necklace moves easily.

Made with fabulous attention to detail, the gold-tone metal is in immaculate condition and was well stored by the original owner. There are no dark age spots or wearing off of the plating.
The back clasp remains quite secure.
Due to the number of gold tone metal chains, plus the large 3 dimensional center pendant, this will weigh more than a smaller necklace, so only consider it if you can wear jewelry with some weight. It weighs 6 ounces. Of course, when it is packaged for shipment it will weigh more so that it arrives safely at your door.
