Beautiful and rare edition of Essays of Elia Book by Charles Lamb, printed in England and published in the U. S. by John C. Winston Company. It has a dark red textured cover with Lamb's signature in gold on the cover. Also his portrait facing the title page. No copyright date, which is common with 19th Century European imports. So I believe it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s.

It's in very good antique condition overall, some slight separation of the spine near the front and some bent edges to the paper's corners. Also a previous reader has underlined passages and there may be other notations. Beautiful edition!
