I have collected and sold off many vintage Hawaiian dresses, and this is one of my favorite ones ever; unique and harder to find:

Fantastic 1950’s-60’s tropical black & grey painterly floral print, with gold accents and fine strokes of orange and pink highlights, on a cotton sateen cap-sleeved maxi gown.
Criss-cross ruched panels attached from shoulder/arm seams taper and wrap at the back, then frog buttoned to a kind of obi-styled cinching.
The beautiful printed portion opens up generously to a front-and-center flap between an interesting rounded-edged hem, for the room you need to take some bigger strides to the bar and dance the night away.

Measurements reflect modern size XXS-XS:
34” chest;
24-25” waist;
35” hip;
52” long from shoulder seam;
16” front flap opening.

There are a total of 8 darts that can be let out, if that helps (4 at front, 4 at back)

Metal zipper and hook + eye closure to an alluring V-shaped back mirroring the front neckline.

MINT condition. Always amazing to me how pieces this gorgeous were never worn more, nor damaged from so many years of storage.
A lovely example of collectible Hawaiian fashion with heavy influence.
