This Edwardian bodice is just so killer. It is made of a thick black silk faille with a high collar that is trimmed at the top with a chiffon puffy ruffle and a swirly lace underneath. The collar also has a folded detail. The bodice is a jacket style so it has large lapels that sit to each side and are adorned with black lace applique and again trimmed in black chiffon puff ruffles. Down the center is a faux shirt that is a panel of lightly gathered chiffon that puffs out of the jacket. The silk faille on the sides is densely pleated to give the front (the mono bosom) more volume and is gathered down to keep the waist slim. My favorite part of this bodice is the killer bishop sleeves. They have lace appliques that run all the way down from the shoulder to the cuff on the side and are fitted till just past the elbow where they puff out and are super full. (None of my photos do them justice and my mannequin’s arms are short.) They are gathered down and fitted into a cuff that has more lace and a scalloped frill that is stiffened to hold its shape. It fastens at the wrist with two hooks and eyes. This bodice has just wonderful witchy dark vibes and is so stunning. It is lined in brown glazed cotton and is boned on the sides and back.

Condition:
The bodice is overall in okay to good condition with the only damage being to the interior. The glazed cotton has given and is splitting all over making it fragile. The fastenings for the bodice are attached to the lining and due to the condition of the lining it can't be fastened, but it can be pinned shut on a mannequin. The boning is also attached to the lining but the back is more supported than the front. The exterior is in excellent condition and has no flaws so the bodice displays flawlessly. The bodice does have a slight storage smell, but it's faint. This bodice is ready to find a new home.
