This is a wonderful antique Edwardian or turn-of-the-century white cotton petticoat and corset cover set. The set has stunning matching eyelet lace of geometric shapes with stars at the center. The corset cover has this lace on the yoke and the petticoat has it at the hem edge. The corset cover has a square neckline with lace at the yoke. It has short sleeves that are trimmed and at the bust line, there is an apple green silk ribbon run through eyelet lace. The bust is fuller and is fitted at the waist with another ribbon. Both can be adjusted if needed for fit. There is a little peplum-like ruffle under the waistline on the corset cover and is trimmed in lace. It fastens up the back with a shell button and there are two sewn loops on the back of the lace so that it was not weakened by sewing a buttonhole through it. It’s such a lovely detail.com

The petticoat is a simple A-line silhouette with a drawstring adjustable waistband. Just past the knees, the decoration starts. There is a matching ribbon to the corset cover that runs around the petticoat and is tied in a bow. Below are some tiny pin tucking details and lace panels till the hem which is a 3” section on the eyelet lace with a scalloped hem edge. There is a plain flounce under the lace to help keep the shape.

Condition:
The set is in phenomenal condition with no flaws to note. The silk ribbon is not original, the original was lost to time and I replaced it with a true silk ribbon. The set has been hand laundered and is ready to wear.
