Edwardian/Victorian Stunning Camel Wool Capelet Pastel Pink Silk$185.00
This is an Edwardian-era camel wool cape. The cape has a wide short lapel that is decorated with lace appliques in cream and is backed in black silk which really adds a nice contrast to the structure and tailoring of the cape. The body of the cape has top stitching detail midway through the cape as it falls just past the elbows. It is a full swing so it has wonderful waving fullness that has a loose, yet sharp look. The cape lining is really the most striking part. It is a stunning and lustrous pale pink brocade with a ribbon-like print that runs through it. The contrast between the darker pink silk of the ribbon detail and pastel pink of the background is so stunning.
Condition:
The cape is in okay condition overall. There are some balding spots around the hem and there is a small section of pin holes on the right side of the cape. Those are the most noticeable. There are a few small breaks in the silk around the neckline where it folds. These flaws are not super noticeable and do not take away from how stunning this piece is. It is still wearable with some care and will complete any turn-of-the-century ensemble.
