Antique rare sampler type of necklace. This is a very early old work and these are almost never found for sale. I have had a couple more I sold a few years ago to a conservator of rare early American School and this one is not the work of Anglo women but with the sinue and style and the large clay bead this is true American Native.
I purchased this about 20 yrs ago in Prescott AZ from an estate of one of the curators of the Heard Museum along with some rugs and Native wedding dresses etc and put it away and forgot all about it.

, loom woven, glass bead necklace. The 3 large beads at the top of the tassel are pottery and handcrafted. Woven with numerous native American symbols. It is begun and ended with some kind of animal hide.

There is one row of beads missing above the golden cross. See photos. I have stabilized it so it won't loose any more.
