Edwardian/Victorian Ivory Pullwork Style Lace Stand Collar With Stays$30.00
Want an antique look without wearing the whole blouse? Why not just wear the collar?
This is a lovely little piece of handiwork! From circa 1890's-1905, this collar's main body consists of a piece of pull work style textile art, in which areas are cut away or pulled away using embroidery techniques. If you look closely you can see the intricacy of the pattern within the pull work center diamond sections. Along the top edge is a very delicate floral theme lace. On the back side of the collar, you can see the tiny little stays/boning sewn in place to help the collar stand up straight when wearing. I've left this piece as-is (aside from washing), in case the buyer wants to sew it into a garment, as was originally intended, I believe. However, it would be very simple ti sew some ribbons on the end, and then you could just tie the collar on instead (happy to do this for you, for a small added fee). Condition is truly excellent to near mint, and collar is entirely hand-made. Please review photographs for full details.
