Seriously, I want to wear these. I love the little leather-covered buttons and the dips in the design between black and white. The leather is still supple and just needs a cleaning ... You could actually put your modern child into these (but probably just for a while; you know kids).
I'd call condition fair. There is some scuffing to the leather--these are at least 120 years old, after all--and are wearable, though some cleaning and restoring of the leather would be a great idea. I bought a box of antique shoes from an estate auction and have been learning so much about the past and how people walked around, just from looking at the shoes.

From a nonsmoking, pet-loving home. These are estate pieces, and they may have a *slight* musty smell, but honestly they don't smell like anything to my sensitive nose.
