Edwardian/Victorian 2-tone Ladies' Boots For Study Display Restoration$40.00
Flawed but fab--Edwardian / Victorian boots for study, display, restoration.
Worn condition, size 6.5 and 7 (total guesstimate; the narrowness makes it hard to say). But they may be wearable--carefully--as is.
Detailed measurements:
Length Of Sole - 11 inches
Heel Height - 2 inches
Boot Height - 10 inches
Let us remember, first of all, that these were once high-quality boots and served their owners gracefully and well. They offer many gorgeous details and insights into life about 120 years ago!
We hace tan wool uppers, very practical, that lace closed. They are decorated with cut-out leather in marvelous points. The leather is a sort of chocolate brown leaning into olive tones. I love the detail of the leather cutouts ... and the wooden Louis heels ... and those pointy toes!
There is even a chance that someone could wear these ... a little ... though the wool is rather holey (see photos) and might shatter. The soles seem well attached to the uppers, though some of the leather on the soles is flaking.
I am offering these primarily for display and study. I bought a boxful at an estate auction and have been amazing myself with what I've learned about footwear. Someone good at restoration could bring the leather back to what it once was. You might have to replace the wool, though.
Measurements
Heel: 2 inches
Height of upper from sole to top of boot/shoe: 8
Length of sole, all the way to pointy toe: about 11
Width at widest point before toe: 2.75 (yes, that's right)
So to wear, you would need a very narrow foot ... But I would love to see somebody just try them on (carefully).
From a smoke-free, pet-loving household. These are antiques, and they have a bit of a musty smell, but it is only appropriate and faint.
Thank you for looking!
