This is very hard to photograph. I try and try but the robe / house dress is so much more than my photos can capture. It is truly a rare gem.
The condition is perfect. not an issue to be found and it is authentic Victorian / Edwardian.
This is true antique. In very wearable condition. There is no signs of wear or fabric failing anywhere. The silk velvet is an iridescent green with scarlet red undertones and red fine satin ruffle lining.
The front has a side stitched waist tie, two antique hooks, and eye to secure closure. The sleeves are the bishop and loose on the cuff with a ruffle finish. The back is longer than a front for that romantic Victorian/ Edwardian drama and there are V pleats at the waist for a gentle gather. There are perfect padded shoulders and a thick padded collar.
I am listing these photos because it is all I have but the item is museum quality and very rare and beautiful.
It's long. It is shown on a very tall mannequin almost 5 foot 9 inch tall' and still hits the floor in front and trains in the back.
No maker or size of course this is a true antique. I have to give respect to the person who cared for this. Silk never lasts let alone in like unworn condition over 125 yrs old!
Due to the wrap front there is give and take in size.
