Edwardian Dress Antique Gown Lace

Edwardian Tea Dress Antique Titanic Era Gown Lawn Lace Bridal Wedding Ivory White S Vintage
Great authentic vintage dress in nice but not great condition - wearable. As when wearing any garment of this age be gentle. As you can see from the photos I buttoned the waist area two different ways, one was looser and left a gap in the middle, perhaps the dress was worn with a cummerbund or was worn more tightly so material pulled closer. There are some snaps facing out at the waist area so a sash or cummerbund makes sense. The other way I pulled the snap button further in for a tighter waist, I don't think this is how it was worn but it looked better than the open area left in the middle.
No size tag - mannequin was a good fit for the dress except at waist. Mannequin is 5'8" with following measurements: 32" bust/24. 5" waist/34" hips. Mannequin was not wearing any undergarments whatsoever so you will want to consider this when looking over the measurements of the dress and allow room for the drape of the material, you do not want this to fit closely. Note the small shoulders and short bodice:
Underarm to underarm is 20. 5" across - bust 40" around/ Waist measures 15" across so 30" around / Hips 44" / Bodice 15" long/ Length approx 49" / Sleeve is 20"/ 15" across shoulders/Bicep approx 13" fitted.
Hook/eye and snap button closures in many places. Sheer material with nice embroidery and scalloped edges.
Flaws: The waist area is oddly stitched, not sure if this is due to the original intent to wear something around the waist or an alteration. Occasional faint discoloration/yellowing. The lace has damage on front as shown in closeup, a seamstress can sew it back together. There are smaller breaks in other places that are holding. The scalloped material at the chest appears to have been sewn down straight, if there is stitching there I could not see it to undo this.
