This is a lovely antique black silk faille capelet, circa the turn of the century. It is a shorter capelet style falling to only the elbows. The capelet has a high collar that has an attached fun ruff-esque chiffon and silk ruffle. The capelet is fully lined in plain black silk that has a wonderful piecing seam. The capelet fastens at the collar with 3 brass hooks and eyes.

Condition:
The capelet is in good condition. The only thing to note is that the capelet was probably stored folded and along a fold line where the silk has a split. It is only in one spot and could be repaired easily if you chose to. The caplet is so cute and is a great piece to jazz up any outfit early this coming spooky season.
