Absolutely exquisite! Professionally constructed with no design or manufacture labels present. The hat is styled as a narrow brim flat top picture hat. The exterior is the most incredible jewel tone shade of true cerulean blue velvet with a matching cerulean blue dyed beaver fur for the flat top. The left side of the top brim features a very large, plush white ostrich feather plume measuring a whopping 20 inches in length. The interior of the hat is lined in a black mirrored silk.

Condition is listed as very good minus to very good.

Structurally sound with original blocking and shape retained. The velvet shows some signs of handling, one small pin hole and a bit of color variance throughout. The variance presents with a slightly greenish hue. I am referring to this notation as a patina as it genuinely contributes to the beauty and antiquity of the piece, obviously this is merely my personal opinion but I find it breathtaking. I believe there may have been a ribbon around the crown at one time as there is the slightest hint of its outline ghosted onto the velvet.

The beaver fur on top is in excellent condition, no shedding or vacancies, and it retains a lovely luster. The feather plume may have been a period addition, however it is era accurate and presents perfectly - no condition issues. The stitching at the base of the feather is visible from the exterior. Presentation is overall stunning. I find no other issues of note, you can find those mentioned reflected in the price. Please review all photos and the above description.
