Edwardian Art Nouveau Repoussé Floral Silver Pin With Saint$85.00
Adorn yourself with subtle beauty, with this antique repoussé style brooch or pin...
A lovely piece of Art Nouveau styled jewelry, this metal pin is made in a repoussé style, which is a fancy term for saying it has a lot of depth and 3-dimensionality to it. The design shows three large lily-like flowers, in an overall ovular shape. There is a small notch at the top, so that it may be converted to a pendant on a necklace. The back features a solder-mounted c-clasp closure, and the funniest little hallmark or maker's mark, which also features intense repoussé detail: it appears to be a man, or perhaps a saint (Christopher/Joseph/Anthony?) holding a small child or Christ figure. the pin is beautifully made, with clean cut edges and lines, but unfortunately, I could not find any info on its maker. It also appears to be silver, even sterling silver, given its weight, color, sound when struck, and patina. I was able to find an exact match to this pin, elsewhere online, which WAS marked sterling but had a slightly different (more modern-looking) closure, so it may have been a copy. In excellent to like new condition, with no flaws to note and a very functional & smooth pin closure. Please see photographs for full details.
