Edwardian Antique Shabby Pink Satin Blouse Bodice$180.00
This beautiful antique bodice was made in the 1900s. The decoration has seen better days, but I think the shabbiness gives it an incredible brocante vibe. It would be beautiful for display and the satin is strong enough that it could also be worn. Closes with hooks and eyes up the back -- the hooks are made of metal while the eyes are just little loops of pink thread.
Condition: As is. The velvet appliques used to be attached to a meshy lace, but that has worn away with time in most areas. The soutache that outlined the decorated areas still remains, as do the appliques (some are curled up at the edges since the mesh no longer holds them in place). There are a couple of light brown stains. Most notably one that is hard and rubbery at the neck. It feels almost like dried glue. Fortunately, these stains are light enough that they don't detract from the piece too badly. One repair to the lower back. Due to its age, I have not attempted to launder this piece.
