Made in USA by Shadowline for their Comforts brand, this never worn peignoir set pairs a wrap front robe with an empire waist angel wing gown. New Old Stock, an original paper hang tag is still attached to each. A waffle weave texture makes these garments unique. At the yoke of the gown there is a pretty pink floral applique. There is a shawl collar on the robe, edged with narrow white lace. That same lace edges the yoke in the gown, the sleeves, entire front of the robe and trims the top of the pocket.

For the gown the plain fabric is 100% Cotton. The waffle weave top and the entire robe are 70% Cotton and 30% Polyester fabric.

Because the paper hang tags are attached I have not laundered this set.

The self belt is attached at the waist line and there are soft smocking details in the back of the robe to define the waist.

Shadowline was a lingerie company, located in Morganton, North Carolina. It was founded in 1946 by Sherrod Salsbury, Jr. The company had the reputation of producing lingerie of very high quality.

This was an original Salesroom sample, meant to be displayed in a Shadowline showroom. That is where department store and boutique lingerie buyers would come to see what was available to order. The salesroom is where they could buy merchandise in bulk for a future season.

This classic angel wing nightgown and robe set is in unworn Mint Pristine Vintage condition, only worn briefly for this photo shoot outside in our sunny SW Florida sunshine.

There are no snags, all the seams are intact and there are no stains, holes or other issues.
