Coach Watermelon Tote, style 9440 in a hard to find Rust color. Pre creed, made in NYC, only factory at the time in the early 1970s when the cartouche stamp started to be used instead of the metal tag.

Heavy leather, medium in size (13 x 10 x 3 inches, per the Coach Catalog of the time). Has the front kiss lock pocket and on top closes with a heavy zipper. It has a hang tag that matches the handles, not the original but with the original "square" bead chain. Inside is not lined and has one big open pocket where the Coach cartouche is imprinted.

The condition of this bag is really good for age and color, no worn out edges, no scratches or scuffs, no pen marks, no worn or scratched kiss lock metal.... the inside is totally clean, no gunk, no stains, no pen or ink marks, no musty odors. The outside pocket is also clean and the kiss lock is hard to operate, so strong and sturdy. You can see on the pictures the "veins" on the back side, they are not stains, as flaws I would point the darker color of the handles, not grime just patina, the indent left by the kiss lock, and the imperfections/marks on the pocket as seen.
