Jaeger
Chiffon Silk Scarf 61 by 25 Inch Oblong Floral Print, Beige, Cream and Gray, Hand Rolled and Hemmed Edge, Use As Shawl Or Scarf, Vtg by Jaeger$32.00
As you would expect from Jaeger, this traditional 61 by 25 inch silk sheer chiffon oblong floral print scarf will become a "go to" item in your wardrobe. Long enough and wide enough to be worn as a wrap style shawl, it is also soft enough to easily fold to wear at your neckline. Various ways it can be worn are shown in these photos.
The Jaeger company is best known for its classic standards. This sophisticated floral print is in shades of beige, cream and gray, very subtle colors. In neutral colors it is versatile, classic in shape, texture and colors so it will become one that has a variety of options in your fashion wardrobe.
Looking closely at the pattern in the detail photos, you can see a series of clusters of small flower shapes, surrounded by rows of various size linear borders. The design completely fills the center and border of this delightful classic print Jaeger scarf.
As you can see in the photos, this scarf drapes easily with a fabulously soft silk sheer texture.
There are hand rolled and hemmed edges that remain beautifully puffy. The discrete linear JAEGER logo appears in one corner.
In pristine condition, the only issue I can find to report is that the fabric label is missing. However, with one touch you will know this is a quality silk chiffon fabric.
As a bonus to the new owner this versatile scarf will come with a small bag of complimentary Scarf Donuts that make it so easy to wear scarves without the need to tie them.
Jaeger is a United Kingdom based high-end fashion brand and retailer of men's wear and women's wear. It was formed in 1884 by Lewis Tomalin. The brand is named after the German zoologist and physiologist, Dr Gustav Jaeger, who advocated the benefits of clothing made of animal fibers rather than vegetable fibers. In 1884, Tomalin opened a clothing store in London, named Dr Jaeger's Sanitary Woollen System.
In the late 1920's, Jaeger changed their focus from health to fashion, and completely updated their image. They began to make and sell coordinated ensembles that could be mixed and matched. The company continued to make clothing exclusively from wool until 1953, when they used other fabrics for the first time. In 2009 Jaeger celebrated its 125th anniversary with the publication of a book documenting its century and a quarter in business.
