Stunning carved Wood Angel Fish Sculpture by Ernie Bessler done in Myrtlewood, a wood unique to Southern Oregon. It is beautifully done and one of the harder to find designs. There is a youtube video posted 10 years ago that shows his process and this design is part of a group he points to as his earlier hand carved designs. He started in 1968 and I would guess from the stickers on the base it is 70s or 80s. It is also signed, etched into the wood.

In very good condition with minor signs of wear and age. Really a beautiful piece! The wood has some unique modeling and colors, including red mix into it.
