Brutalist Open Work Silvertone Choker 50s Choker

This silvertone metal necklace is composed of links that are linked to each other making this choker lay well around your neck. Each link is an open work metal with a textured frame around it. The ,"I" shaped links are .75 tall and the oval links are .5 inch wide. The plating is an antiqued silver. It is a small choker size of 15.5 inches on its last link, closed by a hook closure.

This metal necklace is circa 1950 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.

There are no makers marks on the choker.
