Unique and lovely boxed set of chintz floral coasters. Marked on the base "hand painted" and "Made in occupied Japan" which dates them from 1945–52. I believe these are a kind a paper mâché technique that has been lacquered to make them water proof. Lovely design and colors.

In good condition overall, there were probably originally 8 but this set includes just 7. Some sings of wear and age, especially to the box.
