This is one of my favorite passages from the novel The Great Gatsby.
This beautiful dress is the nearest dress to The Great Gatsby we have ever seen.
We are calling it the Daisy Buchanan dress.
In the 1920s the classic summer dress or tea gown was an overdress of translucent fabric like silk chiffon or organdy with a plain slip-like underdress.
This amazing dress features a white silk organdy overdress with a pale blue silk slip underdress.
Dropped waist silhouette with a sweet little rossett at the hip.
This dress is from the 1980s, but looks so authentic 1920s, very period appropriate.
Excellent condition.
Only issues noted are very, very faint stains under the arms of the slip. We only noticed them on close inspection while measuring. There are no stains on the overdress.
There is a tiny repair at the neck of the overdress.
Overall presentation of this dress is fabulous.
Label reads Christyne Forti, size 6.
The loose fit would make this dress suitable for a variety of sizes.
