Beside the Bonnie Briar Bush was Scottish author and minister Ian Maclaren's first novel, originally published in 1894, depicting stories of rural Scottish life. This is the second edition published in 1896, complete with illustrations by Clifton Johnson, which are actual pictures from Logiealmond (Drumtochty) of the people and scenes in which the characters in the book are drawn. It's a rare and beautiful book to add to your collection.

CONDITION: Good. Minor wear to the cover, mostly around the top and bottom of the binding. The binding has been separated from the cover but the pages are all tightly bound and there are no rips or tears. A previous owner's name is written in pen in the inside cover. There is some yellowing expected with age.
