This is a lovely Suzy Perette black velvet gown that dates to the 1950s. Suzy Perette was a dress manufacturing company that created affordable versions of Parisian designs in the 1950s. They had the only U. S. licensing agreement with a well noted French Designer. This dress is a great example of their signature style of a cinched waist and flared skirt made popular in Paris and known as the "new look".

It features a velvet ribbon on the front (very hard to see in the photos as velvet tends to absorb light) and a structured paneled front piece that creates the beautiful boatneck collar. You would need to add a puffy petticoat/slip to get the full flared effect. It also looks lovely hanging straight.

It has no real issues and is in overall very good condition. It is unlined on the inside.

It is very tiny, as you can see in the photos, we were not able to zip the back all the way up on my model who is a size 2 and 5' 6" tall. I do think this could be altered to fit her by a good seamstress with ties or fabric added. Please see measurements below to be sure of fit.
