“I am not a minimalist designer! Clothes with some adornment are more interesting to look at and more fun to wear.” Arnold Scaasi (1931-2015)

Revered Canadian designer Arnold Scaasi designed extravagant, made-to-order clothing for many of the country’s most famous women, including First Ladies, actresses and socialites. This is an example of a couture ensemble comprising a long-sleeved jacket with padded shoulders and a sleeveless dress. The dress also has padded shoulders and a back zipper. The silk fabric is an ivory checked jacquard with a black abstract print. The cuffs and lining of the jacket are a houndstooth jacquard. No size label is present, but sizing charts indicate the set is closest to a modern size 6. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size.
