ANTIQUE MISER PURSE/Victorian Purses/19th Century Purses/Ring Purses/Finger Purse/Antique Beaded Purse/Collectible Purse/Near MINT Condition

Mid Victorian Period, about the 1870's MISER PURSE

These Lovelies were called Miser Purses, Ring or String Purses, and Finger Purses. During the 19th Century these type purses were used by men and women. It is a long tube often crocheted as this one is. It is narrow and tubular in shape. There is one slider in silver tone metal to compliment the cut steel beading decoration on the purse. They were called miser purses, ring or string purses, and finger purses.

They started being used in the late 18th century and were popular into the early 1900's. These gorgeous bags have a short slit where you can put coins and other small objects into the tube and then close with the slider.

These Miser Purses are often featured in Antique Purse books. There is one featured in "From Antique Purses" by Richard Holiner, page 57.
