This is a flawless example of early Americana, when ladies sat in their parlors, hand painting porcelain cups, saucers, and jewelry, as well as doing traditional needlework, etc. This beautiful example has a gilded frame which is slightly raised in areas, and shows a lovely bouquet of Forget-me-nots. The pin has an early "C" closure. The back is probably a brass type of metal. From top to bottom the pin measures 1. 5 inches, and is 1 and an eighth of an inch thick. This item is in good condition with no chips, cracks or scrapes. There is some tarnishing on the back brass as shown in photos.

Forget-me-Nots are one of my favorite flowers, and I used to grow them back east, and make gorgeous bouquets of them along with Grape Hyacinths, Lily of the Valley, and Violets.
