This is a wonderful antique Edwardian taupe linen lawn dress. The dress is so stunning. It has so much beautiful tatted lace that makes up most of the top of the dress. There is a little detail of pin tucking at the center of the chest made of taupe linen. The sleeves are also mostly made of linen with lace panels and cuffs. At the underbust, there is a particularly lovely lace applique that hangs down off the bust with the most wonderful crocheted ball tassels. The front of the skirt is simple with a large pintuck at the knees. The back of the skirt is decorated with large panels of tatted lace that runs from the back of the waist down to the back of the knees. They are stunning and unlined. The dress just has the most beautiful lines, I think the most noticeable area in the back with seams starting at the shoulders flowing into the waist then down to the hem of the skirt. The skirt falls to the floor and the dress fastens with hooks and eyes up the back. Some of the eyes are hand-sewn loops. There are also ties on the inside of the dress at the back of the knees. I am not sure what they were for? The construction of the dress is also fun as it was made saving lots of linen. So some of the seams are not super clean as they have extra linen. However, You can't tell when the dress is worn.

Condition:

The dress is overall in fantastic condition with only some slight discoloration on the linen. It is overall hard to see but is most noticeable on the skirt. The dress has been professionally hand laundered and is ready to wear.
