Antique Edwardian Black Silk Lace Blouse | Xs-M$212.00
This black lace blouse was made around 1900; it's so special and VERY rare. We can tell it's from the Edwardian era, as it offers a more relaxed (and less corset-like) fit than bodices of the Victoria era. It is made of black silk and features gorgeous needle lace on the top beneath the shoulders, and on the sleeves— the motif feels very Edwardian. Its high neck is pinch-pleated horizontally, and the top of the bodice is pinch-pleated vertically; the pleats release to create a voluminous chest. It closes with hidden buttons down the back, and hooks/eyes at the neck and waist to ensure a secure fit.
Measurements:
Waist: measures 28.5" with the waistband secured with the hook/eye closure (you also have the option of wearing it open)
Chest is open due to pleating
Sleeves: 18.75" from shoulder seam to cuff
Length: 18.5"
Good antique condition. I cannot emphasize how difficult it is to find clothing from this era in wearable condition at all! It has some pin holes throughout, which are not noticeable on the black fabric, and is still wearable as-is.
