This is an amazing piece of opulent 20s fashion. This is a 20s evening dress made of beautiful and delicate black Chantilly lace that's over the most jaw-dropping, absolutely stunning gold brocade lame. The lame has beautiful hydrangea flowers woven into it. The dress style is the 20s shift dress that hangs loose about the figure. The first layer of the dress is the gold lame in the shift style. Over the top of the lame is the lace layer that also hangs loose until it is gathered in the back to create volume at the side of the skirt. The bottom edge of the black lace is in a handkerchief style. The dress comes with a gorgeous gold lame belt that drapes around the hips as the dress has a drop waist. The belt is made of a beautiful heavy metallic lame with fringed raw edges. The lame slip underneath is pleated on both sides with one side, the right, having a chiffon panel added to give it more volume. The only way to get the dress on is to slip it over the head. The only way you can tell the back of the dress from the front is that the lace at the back is cut so that it comes up over the neckline and graces the back of the neck. This dress is so insanely beautiful and a remarkable piece of craftsmanship. I don't have the belt on the mannequin as it was too slight to just sit on the hips and I did not want to pin it to the dress but you can see the belt is worn in the model photo.

Condition:

This dress is in fantastic shape with only minor flaws and they are hard to find. The lame is overall in phenomenal shape with no pulls or wear there is however a bit of tarnishing in some of the pleat creases. The belt does have some wear in one spot and a small little split. The lace has some repairs as it is lace and is overall delicate. The repairs are hard to find, some are my work and some are pre-existing work. I did not find them until I was on top of the dress when I was photographing it. These are truly minor flaws and the dress is still spectacular and in good shape and can be worn with care.
