Add a lovely, handmade piece to your wardrobe with this Edwardian reticule...
Made from an ivory color, lustrous silk thread this purse (a.k.a. reticule) is completely handmade! From circa 1900 to 1910, these styles of bags were commonly made from following patterns published in magazines. This example has a center blossom on either side, with two little 'danglers' in the middle. The main open mesh pattern has a few scallop shaped 'moons' reaching to the four corners of the bag. Nine more little 'danglers' adorn the sides and bottom of bag. Bag is lined in a thin cotton fabric, and drawstring closure features an interesting cotton rope with silk shot through it. Overall condition is excellent (especially for its age!) with some anomalies, two tiny repairs (totally unnoticeable) and very light stains to the bottom 'danglers' -see pics. Very useable today, with some care
