Antique 1900 10s Era White Cotton Shirt Waist Pintucking Floral Embroidery$135.00
This is a simple white cotton lawn late Edwardian, early 1910s shirtwaist. It has a crew neckline with (longer than ¾ length) sleeves but shorter than long sleeves, that have a slight amount of volume and are cuffed at the wrist with two buttons and a hook and eye. The cuff edge is also decorated with small tatted lace and pintucks. The front of the blouse is simply decorated with two rows of pintucks down each side of the blouse, down the center. On each side of the pintucks is delicate white on white embroidery of lovely floral vine embroidery. The shirt buttons up the back with shell buttons and there is more pin-tucking on both sides surrounding the placket. There is a hook and eye at the waist to keep it secure.
Condition:
The shirt is overall in great condition with only a small pinhole on the font near the embroidery. The other thing to note is that there was more length to the shirt that would have helped it tuck into the skirt more easily. This fabric often gets used and salvaged for repairs and things. This blouse had its extra fabric cut off and a little was left under the waistline. It was not pretty and fraying so it was sewed into a bias tape and tacked down inside the shirt. It does not affect the wearability or the look of the shirt. The shirt has been professionally hand laundered and is ready to wear.
