Beautiful Victorian edition of A Book of Irish Verse, Selected from Modern Writers with an Introduction by W. B. Yeats. This is a first edition published in London in 1895 by Methuen and Company. William Butler Yeats was 30 years old at the time and included notes along with his introduction, and this book can be found in his bibliography for 1895, with him also credited as the editor.

It has a beautifully designed Arts & Crafts cover. Unfortunately both the front and back covers have separated from the spine. The Text is still attached to the spine except for one loose page. It might be worth taking to a skilled book restorer for repair. The text looks to be complete, the pages have a rough, almost burnt look to the edges. I don't know if this was done by the publishers or a result of age. The actual pages are in otherwise good shape with clear text. There is also what looks like a little candle wax stuck to the cover. Even with the damage, it is stunning piece and possibly one of just a few in existence.
