Giorgio Armani
A Milano Borgonuovo 21
Giorgio Armani got his first job in fashion doing display windows at La Rinascente in Milan. This was in 1954. He got his start designing at Nino Cerruti in 1964. In 1970 Armani began a freelance design business, where he designed various lines, including two menswear collections for Ungaro.
Armani started his own label for men in 1974, and a year later, he started his women’s line. But his name became a household word with the release of the movie American Gigolo, in which he had designed the clothes for Richard Gere.
