This gown is just to die for!!! It is the dress of slinky vampy dreams. This stunning buttery soft black silk chiffon gown is from Bellville Sassoon by Lorcan Mullyany. It is a strapless dress with points right before the armpits. The bodice has a shelf-bust look and the bodice is boned for support. The silk chiffon is densely gathered and ruched down to the hips. The gathers get looser and give an apron overskirt look, draping over the hips to the top of the knees. In the back, the zipper runs down the center and the gathers run from the zipper and end in an upside-down V at the end of the zipper. The rest of the skirt hangs straight down and is bias-cut in front at that point. There is a small but dramatic train in the back. The hem in the front drapes scalloped like because of the bias cut and adds a magical ethereal air to the gown. The dress is fully lined in a butter soft acetate. There is also a mini dress-lining from the bodice to just past the hips. The tag has the size info marking it a US size 4 (but will fit more like a US size 2 today and a UK size 8). It is dry clean only and is pure silk. The lining is acetate.
