1990's gold ballgown by Carmen Marc Valvo. Intriguing antique gold acetate fabric that shimmers and changes in the light. The sweetheart bodice is wrapped and pleated around the body. The full length floor grazing skirt is very full. The inner construction of this gown is pure luxury. There is a built- in waist cinching belt with hook and eye closures. This was a common feature in couture gowns and its nice to see it here as it really does help you feel nipped in and supported. There is a fully boned bustier corset inside that closes with metal hooks and eyes at the side. With the boned bustier and waist cinching belt, there really is need for additional upper body undergarments. The skirt is lined in silky acetate and the hem has a stiff woven panel all the way around. This gives the skirt structure and helps it hold its shape. The outer dress has an invisible zipper closure at the side. This would make a wonderful unconventional wedding gown!
