Romance is in the air, whenever you wear this stunning reproduction coat by J. Peterman & Co...
Their fame cemented by the show Seinfeld, this real life, small-scale production company began in the late 1980's with a single duster coat. Known for classic clothing that often echoes past styles, J Peterman Co. has always utilized quality international garment makers, as well as materials, as part of their appeal. This incredible duster style coat is no exception...
Modeled after a turn-of-the-20th century style, this coat has Edwardian styling but with modern ease and appeal. It is made of a luxurious silk and rayon blended velvet, with a romantic paisley print in deep bronze, russet, pale green and gold color palette. The standing collar, gathered mutton-like sleeves, peaked wide cuffs and large covered button-down front are all hallmarks of styles from the late 1890's to early 1900's. The back waist has a dramatic gathered skirt detail that is just divine! This is a somewhat lightweight coat, good for autumn (especially with those colors), spring, or cool but not cold temperatures. Lined with a lightweight, iridescent acetate blend fabric in golden-bronze hue, and coat also has hidden pockets at the hip side seams. Overall condition is absolutely excellent to near mint, with a couple spots at back neck lining, and no other noticeable flaws or signs of wear at all. Labels read 'J Peterman Company, Lexington Kentucky, size 6, Dry Clean Only, 82% Rayon/18% Silk and lining 50% Acetate/50% Nylon'. Please review photographs for full details.
